Accessibility
The site should work for everyone, whatever device, settings or assistive technology you use. Here's how that's checked, and what isn't yet right.
The standard
The target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, in light and dark themes, at desktop and phone widths.
How it's checked
- Automated checks. Page templates are tested with the axe-core WCAG 2.2 AA rules in light and dark themes, at desktop width and at 390 pixels wide.
- Keyboard. Every page has a skip link to the main content, and wide tables can be reached and scrolled with the keyboard.
- Diagrams. Each diagram has a text alternative and a caption, and colour is never the only way information is shown.
- Light and dark. The site follows your device's light or dark setting, and both are checked for contrast.
Known limitations
- A full review with screen readers has not yet been completed. Until it has, testing is automated and by keyboard.
- Some tables in the banking guide are wide, and on phones they scroll sideways inside the page.
